Death is announced in Kefalonia of a well known figure from the United Kingdom Losing a struggle against cancer after 2 years.
The family of Glenn Eric Bates wish to announce that the funeral and burial will take place at Drapano church Kefalonia on Thursday 22nd August at 13.00pm. All are welcome to attend
Glenn was a Manchester United Football fan and had moved to Kefalonia with his wife in 2008.
He was not only crazy about football but he was passionate about animals too, helping myself and the major animal charities rescue many cats and dogs from the area of Drapano, where many got injured on the roads or poisoned .
His daughter Claire Marie Chadderton moved here alone 15 years ago and made Kefalonia her home. She was happy when her dad and family moved over here in 2008 to be together.
The whole family had been coming to Skala many years before and it was all of their dreams to move here which had been their ultimate aim.
Glenn was born in UK in 1957.
RIP to a good man who will be sadly missed by his friends and family alike. Glenn, may your spirit live on and give us the strength to carry on your good work and dreams………….RIP
